Comments - Attractive kakemono or vertical diptych of an elegantly dressed courtesan out for a stroll. Her outer kimono is bordered with bamboo, trimmed with layers of cherry blossom fabric and tied with a chrysanthemum print obi. She looks ahead with her lips slightly open, her hair arranged with large combs, many decorative hairpins, and a ribbon. She wears chunky wooden geta sandals, and just a flash of her red under robe is visible as she walks. Beautifully drawn with flowing line work. A classic Edo era beauty subject.
