The Seven Flowers of Autumn, 1897 - Lovely scene of a beauty and two girls strolling through the Hyakka-en (One Hundred Flowers) garden, admiring the "seven flowers of autumn." The older girl leads her sister by the hand as they walk along a path, the young girl smiling and waving a fan. Their mother follows behind, enjoying the blossoming grasses and shrubs. Small wooden signs identify the varieties of plants. A charming image with soft color and a very painterly feel. A great design from this rarely seen Gekko series.

Artist - Gekko (1859 - 1920)

Image Size - 28" x 13 5/8" + margins as shown

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Three panels attached at the seams. Backed with old paper. Some toning, spotting and staining in subject as shown. Some soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
