Comments - Lovely portrait of a beauty with a visitor kneeling at her feet. She waves her folding fan with one hand as she looks down with a smile, tucking her other hand into her gray brocade obi. Her guest wears a fine coat with a beautiful pattern of floral bands alternating with a geometric print, trimmed with a black collar. A scene above shows a ship at sea with birds fluttering overhead. An interesting subject with embossing detail in the kimono trim, fine bokashi shading in the background, and handsome wood grain impression.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 9 1/2" x 14 3/8"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. A few small holes repaired from reverse. A crease at left edge. Some rubbing and soiling at edges. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
