Comments - Charming woodblock print of the corner of St. Michel in Paris in 1940. Shungo Sekiguchi moved to Paris in 1935 to attend the L'Ecole des Beaux Arts on a scholarship from the French Government, and this is one of the images he did while there. He moved back to Japan during WWII, but returned to Paris after the war. The muted tones of the buildings are enlivened by the red of the signs and the soft blue of the cloudy sky. An attractive design.
