The Moon in the Country - Lovely image from Bairei's series "The Moon in the Country" (Inaka no Tsuki) featuring birds and animals in natural settings. These charming designs include cranes on the shore, a skylark tending her nestlings, snowy herons perched in trees, and a variety of fish and mammals. Carefully observed and beautifully drawn with flowing, calligraphic line work, and a few touches of soft color, giving them the look of ink and wash paintings.
