Series; The Loyal Ronin (Gishi Taikan), 1921

The Loyal Ronin - Fantastic design from a series of woodblock prints published in 1921 under the title "Gishi Taikan" or "The Loyal Ronin." Based on the famous tale of the 47 Ronin, these lovely images illustrate scenes from this classic story of honor and revenge. Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse along one side from previous folio mounting. Tear at lower right edge, repaired. Faint toning, a few small spots, slight creasing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
