Our group includes several original Utamaro prints, an especially dramatic ghost diptych, some excellent Kuniyoshi designs and others. Beauty Carrying a Standard, 1806 - 1807 - Interesting portrait of a beauty carrying a standard covered in black cloth from a series depicting women imitating a daimyo's procession. She looks up with a smile, her hair pulled back into a smooth bun adorned with a red ribbon and a single hairpin, wearing a purple robe over mustard yellow pants. An unusual Edo era subject by Toyohiro, also in the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

Image Size - 3 3/8" x 9"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. A horizontal crease at center. Some rubbing and soiling at edges. A few small holes repaired from reverse. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
