Great Fireworks Display at Ryogoku Bridge, 1869 - Attractive scene of fireworks exploding high above Ryogoku Bridge in Tokyo. The bridge is tightly packed with pedestrians enjoying the display, while the river below is filled with pleasure boats. A great image of this popular summer activity, nicely detailed with soft shading in the water and sky. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection.
