Original Meiji era Japanese Woodblock Print
Goddess Izanami

Comments - Handsome portrait from Japanese mythology of the Goddess Izanami, who along with the God Izanagi, created the Japanese islands. She stands quietly with her arms folded in front of her, dressed in a white tunic over trailing red pants. She wears an ornate necklace and her long hair flows loosely over her shoulders. Delicately embossed clouds drift across the mountainous landscape behind her. A great subject for a collector interested in Japanese legends.

Artist - Meiji era artist (unsigned)

Image Size - 7 3/4" x 10 1/2"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Some light toning and soiling at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
