A Kyoto Collection - Purchased last year, we secured this exceptionally large and fine selection of twelve Karhu prints from a Kyoto estate. Now, we're offering these rare, valuable prints at opening bids of only $149! Karhu prints are highly sought after by collectors and retail for thousands of dollars.
For this special collection though, we're posting these to sell and letting the market drive the price. A few lucky collectors may walk away with an original Karhu at a fraction of its retail price - bid or buy now!
Comments - Handsome view of Shimogawara-cho in the historic Gion district of Kyoto. Traditional buildings line the narrow street, creating a beautiful geometric composition with wood, plaster, and stone interspersed sections with the repeated lines of shoji windows. A round window near center right provides a rest for the eye and an organic contrast to the strong vertical emphasis of the structures. Shadows fall across the road, adding a sense of depth and intimacy as the view progresses farther into the scene. A wonderful, classic Karhu design.
