The Ginza District with Streetcars

Comments - Fantastic scene of the prosperous Ginza district in Japan during the Meiji era, with teams of horses pulling streetcars along rails. Uniformed sailors and soldiers share the sidewalk with women in both traditional and Western dress. Handsome stone buildings line the street bordered with willow trees. Wonderful detail and fine shading in the sky as the sun sets. A great image designed to highlight the progress of modern Japan during the Meiji era.
