Drastic Price Reduction Moved to Clearance, Act Fast! - Lovely woodblock reprint from a Meiji release of Hiroshige's Ehon Edo Miyage, an illustrated book of landscapes originally published in ten volumes in 1850. In the early 20th century the publisher Nisshindo reprinted the series in the form we are selling - without the centerfold of the picture book. Nisshindo publishing was well known in the late 19th and early 20th century for some of their prints, including series by Hiroshige, Hokusai, and Utamaro. This print release is referred to by Japanese dealers as the Meiji Commemorative Edition of the Edo Miyage, dating around 1906 or 1907. With soft color and fine detail, these attractive landscapes of the Edo area would make a wonderful framed display, either singly or in groups. Bid now!
